Updated 22 April 2020
Due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19, we’ve made the decision to reschedule June exams for July in the following areas:
· Mainland China
· Hong Kong SAR
· Macau SAR
· Taiwan region
· Italy (Milan only)
· Japan
· South Korea
· Vietnam
· Various African countries(excluding Botswana, South Africa, Mauritius, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia)
We’ve made this move in areas where we have confidence - at this time - that the stage of the pandemic, the government advice available to us, and health and safety considerations mean exams can take place. We’ll continue to monitor the situation very closely with health and safety being our key priority.
While we are still working through some of the detail, we hope the following FAQs will provide you with the information you need at this stage. We will continue to update these as we work through the detailed planning of this change.
1. What markets/regions will now offer a July exam session as a one-off arrangement?
· Mainland China
· Hong Kong SAR
· Macau SAR
· Taiwan Region
· Italy (Milan only)
· Japan
· South Korea
· Vietnam
· Various African countries(excluding Botswana, South Africa, Mauritius, Zimbabwe and Ethiopia)
2. What is the date of the new session in July?
In Mainland China exams will take place in a 2-week period, starting 6 July. This will give us the best opportunity to provide an exam sitting for those students wishing to sit.
In other markets/regions they will take place over 1 week, again starting 6 July.
We are still working through the details, including the timetable, and will update you as soon as we have completed this detailed planning. We will continue to send updates ahead of exam dockets being available and will ensure you have all final details by 8 June.
3. What is the new timetable for July exams?
We are still working through some of the details of this new session and will update all students when these are finalised.
4. If I am planning to sit my exam in Mainland China, will I be able to choose the exam week I would like to sit?
We are still working through some of the details of this new session and will update all students when these are finalised.
5. If I am already booked into the June session to sit an exam in one of these areas, will I be automatically booked into the July session or do I have to change the booking myself?
If you already have a June exam booking for one of these areas, this booking will be internally transferred to July by ACCA. No changes or further payments are required to be made by students, but students should allow time for this change to be done.
6. What if I know prior to 27 April that the new dates in July do not suit me?
We understand that the new dates might not suit all students, so if you know before 27 April that you will not be able to attend exams in July then please cancel your entry on exam planner and rebook into a future session.
7. What if I will only know whether the new July dates suit me when the exam timetable is published?
As we are unable to confirm the exact timetable at this point, if once we have published the timetable you find out you are unable to attend your booked exam then please send an email with the clearly stated subject of July Withdrawal to students@accaglobal.com to request a withdrawal. We’ll then withdraw your entry internally and provide you with an exam fee credit so you can rebook for September.
8. Will I receive an exam fee credit if the exam timetable is published after exam entry closes (4 May) and I realise the new date for my exam is not suitable for me?
Yes.
9. Is there an exam cancellation deadline?
Due to currently being unable to confirm the exam timetable, there is no cancellation deadline and we will update students if a cancellation deadline is set in future. Once we publish the timetable and there is a need to cancel, students should contact ACCA as soon as possible by sending an email with the clearly stated subject of July Withdrawal to students@accaglobal.com. We’ll then withdraw your entry internally and provide you with an exam fee credit so you can rebook for September.
10. Will there be any extension to the standard entry window to allow me time to consider my options?
Standard entry pricing will now extend through until the late entry deadline on 4 May. Please note that students will still only be able to amend existing entries until 27 April, but students will be able to make a new July exam booking at the standard pricing until 4 May.
11. I want to book into the July session but the exam planner is still showing June. Will this be updated?
You should book into the June session for one of the markets/regions listed above and your entry will automatically go towards the July session. Please be aware the exact date and time of your July exam will not be confirmed at the end of the booking process, and these details will be confirmed by 8 June.
12. I would prefer to defer my entry until September rather than take exams in July. Can I change my booking?
You can cancel your booking using the exam planner until the standard entry deadline of 27 April and then rebook into the next session. If you need to cancel your exam after this date, please send an email with the clearly stated subject of July Withdrawal to students@accaglobal.com. We will then withdraw your entry internally and issue an exam fee credit.
13. Will I be sitting my exam in the same centre that I had booked for June?
We are still working through some of the details of this new session and will update all students when these are finalised.
14. When will results be released for the July exam session?
July results release is currently scheduled for 31 July.
15. What syllabus will be tested in July?
The exams being rescheduled for July will use the June 2020 syllabus. More information on the syllabus of each individual exam can be found by clicking here.
16. Will the September 2020 exam entry deadline be moved to allow students time to receive their July results and consider entering into the next session?
Standard exam entry pricing for the September session will be extended until 10 August which will allow students time to receive their results and decide whether to enter for the September session.
17. The exam session in my country has already been cancelled, will ACCA reconsider this cancellation and have a July session in my country too?
We have made the decision for these markets/regions to be able to hold exams in July based on the stage of the pandemic, the government advice available to us, and health and safety considerations. Using these same parameters we are unable to make the same arrangements for areas that have already been cancelled and this cancellation decision remains final.

https://www.accaglobal.com/lk/en/student/exam-support-resources.html
